"Hey Jude, I wanted to say a massive thank you for all of the tutoring over the past year, you've taken me from scraping 4 in my Sciences to hopefully getting high 9s in both. and I would not have been able to achieve such high grades without your help by being by far my best tutor. Thank you so much. 🙏"

Meet Jude

Hi, I'm Jude, founder of My Medical Tutor and a third-year medical student at the University of Leeds.

Teaching has been a passion of mine since achieving top GCSE and A-Level grades, and I've been tutoring students since 2022. I've helped learners across GCSE and A-Level Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Economics, with many achieving significant grade improvements and securing places at their first-choice universities.

I founded My Medical Tutor to give students access to high-quality tuition from medical students who not only excel academically but also understand how to explain complex topics in a clear, supportive and engaging way. Today, our growing team delivers almost 100 lessons each month, helping students build confidence, achieve outstanding results and reach their full potential.

My aim is simple: to help every student believe in their abilities and succeed both in their exams and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: What qualifications do your tutors have?

All our tutors are current medical students who have successfully achieved strong GCSE and A-Level results and completed the competitive medical school application process themselves. They are carefully selected for their subject knowledge, communication skills and ability to explain difficult concepts clearly.

This means students receive academic support from tutors who understand exactly what is required to succeed in GCSE and A-Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and related subjects—as well as the UCAT and medical school interviews.

Question 2: How do you personalise lessons for each student?

We begin by identifying the student’s current ability, academic goals, strengths and areas for improvement. Their tutor then creates a personalised learning plan based on the topics that need the most attention.

Lessons may include:

> Clear teaching of difficult concepts

> Exam-style question practice

> Active recall and regular knowledge testing

> Exam technique and past-paper analysis

> Progress tracking to identify weaker topics

Our approach ensures that lessons are focused on the areas that will make the greatest difference to the student’s results.

Question 3: What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling a lesson. Sessions cancelled with sufficient notice can be rearranged at no additional cost.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may still be charged, except in exceptional circumstances. Full details will be explained before tutoring begins.

Question 4: How often should my child attend tutoring sessions?

This depends on the student’s current level, goals and the amount of support they require. Most students attend one or two sessions per week to maintain consistent progress.

Students preparing for important exams, the UCAT or medical school interviews may benefit from more frequent sessions during key periods. We will recommend a suitable schedule after discussing the student’s needs.

Question 5: Can I request a specific tutor?

Yes. We aim to match every student with a tutor based on their subject, academic level, personality and learning needs.

Students and parents can request a specific tutor, and we will do our best to accommodate this depending on availability. If the initial match is not right, we will work with you to find a more suitable tutor.

Question 6: Do you offer group tutoring sessions?

Yes. We offer small-group programmes for selected subjects and services, including academic tuition, UCAT preparation and medical school interview practice.

Group sizes are kept small so that students can benefit from personalised feedback while also learning alongside other ambitious students. Group sessions can provide a supportive, engaging and more affordable alternative to one-to-one tuition.

Question 7: Which subjects and services do you offer?

We support students throughout their journey towards medical school, including:

> GCSE and A-Level Biology

> GCSE and A-Level Chemistry

> GCSE and A-Level Maths

> UCAT preparation

> Medical school application strategy

> Medical school interview and MMI preparation

Support is tailored to the student’s age, current ability and long-term goals.

Question 8: Is your tutoring only for students applying to Medicine?

No. Our academic tutoring is available to any student who wants to improve their confidence and results in Maths and Science.

However, we specialise in supporting ambitious students who are considering Medicine and need guidance across their academics, UCAT preparation, university choices and interviews.

Question 9: How are lessons delivered?

Lessons are delivered online, allowing students to learn from the comfort of their own home while accessing high-quality medical-student tutors.

Online lessons are interactive and may include shared screens, digital whiteboards, exam questions, diagrams and personalised learning resources.

Question 10: How do you monitor my child’s progress?

We continuously monitor progress through lesson performance, knowledge checks, exam-style questions and topic assessments.

Students’ stronger and weaker topics are tracked so that future lessons can focus on the areas requiring the most improvement. Parents can also receive updates on progress, engagement and recommended next steps.
